The Lowdown On The New Daily30+ Supplement

Is it possible to get 30 plants a day from a single supplement? A new whole food supplement from ZOE promises to deliver 30 health-boosting plant ingredients in just one supplement. So what exactly is Daily30+? And more importantly, does it deliver on its promises?

If you’re looking for a personalised, expert-led approach to overcoming your weight and nutrition challenges, and establishing healthy lifestyle habits that stick long term, we can help. Book your complimentary call today to find out more.

WHAT IS THE DAILY30+ SUPPLEMENT?

Daily30+ is a supplement developed by ZOE, a health science company known for its science-backed nutrition programmes. Unlike traditional pill supplements, Daily30+ is minimally processed and based on whole foods rather than isolated nutrients. It’s a blend of over 30 plant ingredients designed to support gut health, energy levels, and increase dietary diversity. It can be used as a crunchy topper to sweet or savoury meals.

WHAT DOES IT INCLUDE?

The Daily30+ supplement contains a diverse range of ingredients that span various plant-based food groups. It includes eight fruits and vegetables, eight functional mushrooms, five herbs and spices, six seeds, three nuts, two legumes and whole grains, and nutritional yeast flakes. Each 15g serving promises to provide 5 grams of fibre, 353 different types of fibre, and over 7,000 plant chemicals. The idea of the supplement is that it will provide a wide spectrum of nutrients and beneficial compounds. It is vegan-friendly and produced in a gluten-free facility, making it accessible to those with various dietary restrictions.

HOW DOES IT DIFFER FROM OTHER SUPPLEMENTS?

Firstly, it uses minimally processed plant ingredients rather than isolated nutrients or synthetic compounds. This preserves the natural properties and benefits of whole foods. Secondly, it’s designed to be sprinkled on top of food. This means it complements meals rather than being taken as a pill or powder, making it easier to consume. The supplement also focuses on increasing fibre intake and plant diversity, addressing common nutritional deficiencies in modern diets.

WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS?

According to ZOE’s research, Daily30+ offers a range of benefits that contribute to overall health and wellbeing. Users have reported improved gut health and microbiome composition. The supplement has been shown to reduce digestive symptoms, including indigestion and constipation, providing relief for common gastrointestinal issues.

DOES IT WORK AND IS THERE ANY PROOF?

The efficacy of Daily30+ is supported by a 6-week randomised controlled trial conducted by ZOE with 349 healthy participants in the UK. The results of this study provide compelling evidence for the supplement’s effectiveness. A significant majority (70%) of participants reported improvements in digestive symptoms. The participants saw an average 5-point increase in their ZOE gut microbiome score, indicating a positive impact on gut health. The study also found that when added to a test meal, Daily30+ increased fullness by 41.5%. and reduced the desire to eat by 70.9% compared to the meal alone. This demonstrates its potential to influence appetite and eating behaviours. It is important to note that this study was funded and carried out by ZOE. Independent controlled studies may be necessary to cement these findings.

IS IT GOOD FOR WEIGHT LOSS?

While Daily30+ is not primarily marketed as a weight loss supplement, it may support weight management through several mechanisms. The high fibre content and diverse plant ingredients help increase feelings of fullness and reduce hunger, potentially leading to lower calorie consumption. By improving gut health, which is associated with better weight management, Daily30+ takes a holistic approach to supporting a healthy body weight. Unlike some weight loss drugs, Daily30+ aims to reduce hunger naturally and focuses on creating sustainable dietary habits, which may be more beneficial in the long term. In the randomised controlled trial, participants saw a 21% reduction in hunger from the start to the end of the trial, suggesting potential benefits for appetite control. It is not designed as a weight loss supplement, however.

THE VERDICT

High quality nutritional supplements have the potential to positively impact our diet and improve our nutrient status and overall health and wellbeing. As this one is made of minimally-processed whole foods, it’s a healthier alternative to low quality products based on synthetic or poorly absorbed forms of nutrients. However, it is important to note that it can not be used as an alternative to a healthy, balanced diet containing plenty of plant foods. Daily30+ can play a role in helping us meet our nutritional needs. Read my edit of the best supplement brands here.
